Thank you to Big Cities Little Foodies for sharing Tokyo with me! A twenty-two page board book, Tokyo introduces children to ten different colors and ten different authentic Tokyo dishes. On the yellow page you will find an illustration of Tamagoyaki -- layers of egg with a touch of sweetness. On the pink page you will find an illustration of Daifuku -- chewy mochi filled with sugary bean paste...and so forth. Simply done, Tokyo provides just the right amount of text for little ones and as someone who is not very familiar with Tokyo cuisine, I particularly like how the name of each dish can be found at the bottom of each page in English and Japanese.
Enjoy!
